Ruby Fruit plot

Maiko has recently become a widow. She is on a trip to Bali to give herself some distraction. At the airport she meets Kioko, who gives her a dagger and a photo of a woman. She convinces Maiko to let the woman travel back to Japan, or else kill it with the dagger. The woman in question is called Shireni and they meet soon after arriving. Maiko discovers that Shireni is an immortal soul, seeking only pleasure.
