Die Pfauenfeder plot

A powerful, absolute monarch enlists the two sons of a fisherman after hearing from an oracle that one of them will one day rule his realm. He plans to use his brother to kill him. The king's daughter falls in love with the unfortunate boy. When the brothers are ordered to obtain the three golden plumes of a mythical bird, the king tells the one brother to return alone. However, the other gets a peacock feather from the princess that should protect him from harm.
