The Boathouse Detectives plot
When 7-year-old Anna learns that her foolish stepmother plans to send her little dog Toby to the shelter and Anna to a boarding school, she does something unexpected. Desperate, she writes her grandmother a letter, ties it to a helium balloon and releases it from an attic window. Soon the balloon with the letter descends into a pond, where 10-year-old Gage Williams finds it. Alarmed by the desperate message, he drums up his friends in their floating clubhouse. With only a handful of clues, the young detectives embark on the adventure of a lifetime, hoping to find Anna and reunite her with her grandmother.
