"A new angle on the classic tale... And that's no lie!"
Years ago, Gepetto, a poor and lonely doll maker, had carved his initials and those of his beloved Leona into a tree trunk. One day when he is looking for wood in the forest, he discovers that the trunk has been knocked down by lightning. He decides to take the piece of wood home and cuts out a doll. His creation is a boy with big, blue eyes. He names it 'Pinocchio'. When Gepetto takes a well-deserved bath, Pinocchio comes to life. In no time, Pinocchio discovers life, its creator, the animals, the world. But the wooden boy underestimates the dangers of that world. Gepetto accompanies his wooden 'son' and tries to protect him. It becomes a difficult task as a circus director wants at all costs to get Pinocchio to stage the rare appearance in his circus...
