Teufelskicker plot
"They're outsiders beating the odds."
Moritz is fond of football, and the building of the football club SV Hulstorf, of which his father is also the trainer, is where Moritz is usually found. He has a hard time when his parents split up, and he and his mother, who doesn't like football, have to move in with his annoying grandfather Rudi. The rich man's son Mark, the star of the local football club VfB Eichstädt, also lives nearby. Mark doesn't like Moritz much, but Moritz quickly makes many new friends. They all decide to breathe new life into an old sports club, with Rudi as coach. Then it turns out that Rudi used to play football at this club himself, and that he was a good player. After their first major league game, Moritz's father suddenly appears.
