Spirit of Friendship plot
"Laughter mends, friendship heals."
When Billy notices his children are grieving for their deceased grandfather, he tells a story from his childhood and how he dealt with the death of his mother when he was their age. The majority of the film follows the journey of 12-year-old Billy as he navigates the world of friendship, loss, family, and neighborhood bullies. Young Billy is dealing with the not-so-distant memory of his mother’s passing. He and his father deal with the loss in different ways, which inevitably leads to conflict between them. During the early teen years, Billy’s friendships evolve from childhood relationships to mature and supportive interactions.
