Smoke plot

Chris is a 14-year-old boy who cannot get over the death of his father. His stepfather would do anything to win Chris's love and respect. Then Chris finds an injured dog and begins to nurse it. He develops a strong bond with the animal and when the dog's owners show up, Chris is sure his stepfather will betray him by giving the dog back.
