Professor Branestawm Returns plot

Just before her death, when Lady Pagwell (Diana Rigg) leaves a significant amount of money from her late husband to fund local inventors, Professor Branestawm's money problems could end. But scheming councilor Harold Haggerstone (David Mitchell) has other ideas and hires a rival, the evil Professor Algebrain, to steal one of Branestawm's inventions (a type of electric clairvoyant glasses) and drive him out of business. Connie decides to help Branestawm so he can get the money from the inheritance to which he is entitled.
