Julie, Bientôt 12 Ans et Demi plot

Pierre is the owner of three fishing boats. Six years ago, an accident on one of the boats left him blind. Shortly afterwards, his wife left him and their 6-year-old daughter Julie. All the while, Julie has been helping her father and replacing her mother in the household. Now she is twelve and the results at school leave much to be desired. Pierre thinks it would be better for Julie if she went to a boarding school. Julie is worried and unhappy about this. She wants to come up with a ruse. Her comrade Mathieu has an idea: look for a suitable wife for Pierre. Meanwhile, due to the fall in fish prices, business is bad and Pierre has to work with bank credit. At the bank he meets Florence, who does an internship there and handles his account. Due to another accident of Pierre, Florence is concerned about the fate of the family.
