Zwischen Pankow und Zehlendorf plot
Berlin, 1953. The wounds of the Second World War have not yet healed. The occupied German capital is divided into three western sectors and one eastern sector. A woman with two daughters in East Berlin sends the youngest to the West to take music lessons with her grandmother, an opera singer; the eleven year old girl has a lot of talent. When father returns from captivity in Russia, the relative balance in the family that mother had created is disturbed by the war traumas and anxiety psychoses of the head of the family.
