Leninakan (now called Gyumri), Armenia, 1988. After the devastating earthquake of December 7 in Spitak, 50-year-old Russian Konstantin Berezhnoy and 28-year-old Armenian Robert Melkonyan team up to save the desperate survivors. The earthquake destroyed at least 300 cities and left more than half a million people homeless.
