"For both of them life had become a habit...until they met."

Lou is a lonely addicted prostitute who becomes involved with married bookseller Rob. When his wife finds out about this, his marriage and with it his stable life is at stake. Lou draws from the relationship the strength and courage to step out of her life of misery and drugs and build a new life.
