Wilde Wellen - Nichts Bleibt Verborgen plot

A disaster changes the happy life of the Parisian policewoman Marie Lamare, overnight. She is just on her way back from the infirmary when she and her colleague Jean see a car racing through the city at high speed. They start the chase and force the driver to stop. When Jean wants to see the man's papers, the whole situation escalates. Without any warning, the driver takes a rifle and shoots both of them. When he hits Marie in the shoulder, she returns fire. Seconds later it's all over. Hubert Polin, the car driver, and her colleague Jean are dead. Marie crashes down and loses consciousness. The first witness to appear on the scene is the young archeology professor Paul Racine, who is just celebrating his birthday with some friends. He immediately offers first aid to the injured Marie. Their paths cross again in Brittany, where Marie is recovering from the events and Paul is investigating the mysteries of menhirs and dolmen.
