Whitewash: The Clarence Brandley Story plot
In 1940, black Dan Brandley was shot dead in broad daylight on Main Street, Conroe, Texas. Although his white killer was known to the locals, no one was ever brought to justice. Forty years later, his grandson Clarence discovers the raped and murdered body of a white teenage girl, and he will soon learn that his skin color is the only proof a corrupt and racist legal system needs. Despite his clear innocence and a complete lack of evidence against him, Clarence is sentenced to death after years of trial and appeal. Just days before his execution, Clarence's lawyers have only one option left.
