Mediocre.

Not a special film this, which wants to be very special. You also have a bit of an advantage if you already have some experience with the environment as a director. Unfortunately, it doesn't get much further than a very empty drama film that does have a raw edge, but that's where it ends.

Praise to Saylor, who is still good at acting. Now she just has to repeat the same trick and that is mainly drunk or lost. A little more variation or background would have been welcome, but otherwise she does a very strong job and also plays a pretty daring role, so there is something to praise.

The rest of the cast is okay. It remains a bit fluctuating between believable and empty. It all feels realistic, but not always as natural. That may also have to do with the fact that the environment itself feels very natural, and that perhaps reinforces that vibe a bit.

Furthermore, the film feels realistic and director Wood seems to do everything to keep it that way. It feels like it's all real, but the story itself isn't at all. A cliché romance plot mixed with a gray setting. The romance just never wants to feel or touch real. Above all, it is very empty and remarkably explicit.

Towards the second half, the writers didn't seem to feel like it anymore and decided to let the film end in a linear line, resulting in a lot of rushed scenes. Everything ends suddenly and it is very easy for the characters. The ending therefore no longer has any added value.

Other than that, the film has no real impact. Just don't be stupid seems to be the message a bit. The sex scenes are daring but add little, the romance is empty, the story is very mediocre and only the setting and the acting help it up a bit as a whole. Mediocre movie.

Promising directorial debut by Elizabeth Wood with a semi-autobiographical film about a long live the fun girl, who strings together the wrong choices and rapidly ends up in a downward spiral. A raw film about sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll.

Demanding starring role from Morgan Saylor as the stumbling young woman, who can hardly comprehend what is happening to her.

Difficult. On the one hand, I can't identify with the main character who is so incredibly stupid. On the other hand, there are such people and there may be lessons for other people, so the film certainly has a right to exist. But I just find it very difficult to watch this, so many stupid decisions. Also a pretty hard ending, which is also to be appreciated. Audiovisually nothing sticks with me, so the film really has to rely on the plot. That in itself is strong, but does not appeal to me. 2*.
