When Justice Fails plot

"Some words are never spoken. Some murders never solved."

Detective Tom Chaney and his new partner investigate the murder of a man who was castrated with scissors. An investigation into the victim's criminal background leads the police duo to the prosecutor's office. There works the deaf but brilliant lawyer Katy Wesson. When a few days later an acquitted rapist is also found castrated, it seems that Katy is involved in the murders.
