Jerry Seevers returns from World War I in broken health, and his doctor tells him he has only six months to live. His fiancée distances herself from him, and he sets out to drink himself to death. In a moment of clarity, he wakes up to find himself married to what is supposedly a gold-digger after his money. He leaves her and goes to a ranch in Arizona to get rid of his new bride, who is genuinely in love with him. He starts divorce proceedings and then realizes that he does love her.
