Housewife and mother Mona (Franziska Petri) is dissatisfied with the income of her husband Michael (Christoph Grunert), a car mechanic. She takes a job in a chic boutique and thus comes into contact with high society figures. They drag her to the casino, where Mona soon becomes a gambling addict. She then drags her family down a bottomless pit.
