Wasted Eggs plot

Junko is nearly thirty and approaching the best-before date in traditional Japanese society. She therefore feels the pressure: without a potential partner and without wanting to have children, she decides to become an egg donor. She doesn't do this solely because of the prize, a trip to Hawaii, which rewards a successful donorship. At the consultation, she meets Aki, who has similar plans. Together they discover how competing social and evolutionary rules can complicate human relationships in a traditional society.
