"It's never too late to gamble everything for love."
Divorced psychotherapist Max has two teenage daughters, a strong ex-wife, too many quirky patients and a new dog. He certainly does not need a new challenge. One of his patients is Sophie, a compulsive gambling addict who is regularly late to her appointments and whom Max falls in love with. The more Max tries to keep it professional, the more their lives get entangled. Struggling with his conscience and his heart, he has no choice but to adhere to the old rule: you must help yourself before you can help others.
