Venere Creola plot

Two small Caribbean islands are linked by a history of rivalry that peaks on the day of the annual cockfight. One of the cities, Cienfuegos, has been the loser in recent years, but Melchior has now bred a rooster that is sure to win. Unfortunately, Melchior's carelessness kills that rooster. A collection is then made and Melchior is sent to Trinidad with Dolores to buy a new rooster, but in the revelry of a carnival Melchior loses his head. He steals the money from Dolores and uses it for other purposes.
