Vanina oder Die Galgenhochzeit plot

Vanina (Asta Nielsen) is the daughter of a governor (Paul Wegener). She falls in love with the rebel leader Octavio (Paul Hartmann), who has been captured by her father. Vanina helps him escape from prison, but her father won't let them escape and does everything he can to get the two of them. The film is based on the short story Vanina Vanini by Stendhal.
