Robert Marshall works for the World News newspaper. He is promoted to city reporter on the advice of the journalist Collins. Robert's first assignment is to accompany social affairs editor Myra Deane to the International Ball. Robert makes an excellent report and both his report and Myra's are published on the front page. Bob then takes Myra out for a picnic and when a storm hits, they take shelter in her luxurious apartment. Robert falls in love with Myra. With his savings, Robert buys a bracelet and takes it to her apartment the night she canceled their plans. Myra feels uneasy about Robert's presence, and when he tells their newly-married publisher William Winter, who pays for Myra's apartment, that he wants to marry her, Winter insists that he leave the apartment immediately...
