Un Bon Petit Diable plot

Ten-year-old Charles is orphaned and placed in the care of his violent aunt Léontine MacMiche. His only rock is the maid Betty, who cleverly takes advantage of Madame MacMiche's superstitious nature to save the boy the necessary amount of beating. Charles soon makes some other friends.
