Un Anno di Scuola plot
Seventeen-year-old Swedish Fred is starting her final year at an Italian high school. She's the only girl in her class, attracting a lot of attention from the opposite sex. Her three friends, Antero, Mitis, and Pasini, especially long for her approval. While Fred simply wants to be accepted into the group, the friendship between the men is threatened.

A bit uneven at times, but still adequate. The film begins with a lovely tracking shot and some indie music, but it never reaches the same flamboyance as it does here. The lead actress is portrayed well and the dynamic of the group of close friends is captured strongly, but many other students are walking clichés, just as much as the story, which stays safely within the lines. As a viewer, you feel that at 2/3 of the way through there is something of a dramatic moment coming, and the film follows that feeling completely. The film isn't long, and sometimes you do miss some parts because some time jumps are so large that not all developments are immediately relatable and believable. On the other hand, the small, tender moments are again depicted very beautifully and lovingly. 3.0*.
