Loenatik vibes, but much less fun. That comedy is a difficult genre is evident in this film as well. A regional taxi driver has to stop driving after 45 years because his eyesight is failing. Since he cannot bear to part with his bus, he travels south by bus with his regular customers—who are all 'crazy characters' to make it a bit funnier—and naturally experiences absurd moments along the way. I find it all so forced that it is not funny, but annoying. Michiel Kerbosch acts well, though.

When 71-year-old Sjef [Fred Goessens] is fired from Regiotaxi due to (justified) concerns about road safety, he throws caution to the wind out of desperation. With his faithful bus, he picks up his regular clients from the day care center one last time and embarks on a long bus journey. A bittersweet tragicomedy with minimal dialogue, full of visual humor, told at a thoughtful pace and featuring a delightful, idiosyncratic score by Spinvis. It earned him a well-deserved Golden Calf.
