"What woman in love knows what she'll do- what she'll endure- until she has to!"

Jack and Mary Wallace have been married for ten years, but it looks like they won't make it to eleven. Jack is a businessman who made his fortune after the stock market crash of 1929. Mary has always stood by Jack through good and bad times. It is now 1935 and Jack has changed as a result of his success. He has become greedy, selfish and increasingly neglectful. Mary plans to divorce Jack in order to marry her best friend Bill Hallam.
