Calhoun and Harrigan are songwriters who barely get a job until one day they team up with Katie and Lily Blane. The musical girls ensure that the writers are soon successful and famous. Then Harrigan writes a song for Katie Blane that will make her world famous. But when the famous Nora asks Bayes to sing the song, Harrigan can't refuse, leading to a split with Katie, who leaves for London with her sister Lily.
