This Beautiful City plot

In many cities, the distinction between the junkies and the creative class is a gaudy abode where an abandoned house once stood. Carol and Harry belong to the latter group. The couple struggles with minor issues. Recently Harry has been under pressure from the management of his company and he is venting his frustrations on his depressed wife. One day Carol leans against the railing of their balcony and she falls over the edge. When Carol is in the hospital and bonds with friendly cop Peter, Harry strikes up a conversation with Pretty, a streetwalker in their neighborhood, who makes mocking remarks about Harry's plans to improve the neighborhood. Johnny, Pretty's boyfriend doesn't want Pretty to sell her body on the streets anymore and is willing to do anything to get her off the streets before it's too late.
