The White Rose plot
"The Glorification of a Woman's Eternal Love"
Joseph, a wealthy young southern aristocrat, graduates from a seminary. Before taking charge of his assigned parish, he decides to venture out and explore the real world. He lands in New Orleans and is drawn to Bessie, a poor, unsophisticated orphan girl. One thing leads to another, and Bessie soon discovers that she is pregnant by Joseph.
