The War Bride's Secret plot

Jean, a Scottish dairymaid, is pressured by her father to marry the village squire, Robin Gray, an older man. Instead, she secretly arranges for the local blacksmith-preacher to marry her and her lover, Colin, a soldier. Both Colin and the minister then depart for the war on the European front. Later, Jean receives false information that Colin has been killed in action, along with the minister, and realizes she must give her unborn baby a father's name. Jean marries Robin Gray, and while Colin lies seriously wounded in an army hospital, love blossoms between the new couple.
