The Twin Pawns plot
Separated from birth, twins Violet and Daisy White are unaware of each other's existence. Violet, the image of her indulgent father Harry, has everything her heart desires, while Daisy, raised by her needy mother, is poorly clothed and malnourished. This vulnerable child from the slums does not know that John Bent possesses certain papers confirming her true relationship with Harry White. By hiding the truth about her existence from Daisy's father, Bent manages to manipulate the twins for his own benefit, and they become his pawns.
