The Square Root of 2 plot

Rachel Lehrer has Asperger's syndrome, although it has not been diagnosed as such. Her parents are very protective of their daughter, yet Rachel decides to leave the family home to attend the prestigious Somerton Tech University where a bright future awaits her. Rachel's life is soon turned upside down by her new roommate and his manipulative mother. She must do everything she can to avoid falling prey to the many complex student rules and laws that seem to work against her. Fortunately, she can enlist her father's help to bolster her fight against the system.
