The Silent Watcher plot

Lawyer John Steele decides to end his relationship with a revue girl when he enters politics. When the girl commits suicide, the lawyer is arrested on suspicion of murder. His secretary Joe Roberts takes the blame by stating that he had a relationship with the revue girl. As a result, his bride Mary leaves him out in the cold. Joe's name is cleared when the death is cleared up. He decides to commit suicide too, because his bride has left him. Mary returns just in time.
