The Ryan White Story plot

In this true story set in the mid-1980s, 13-year-old Ryan White (Lukas Haas) suffers from haemophilia and becomes infected with AIDS as a result of his treatment. In the eighties little was known about AIDS and Ryan is therefore quite bullied and discriminated against at school. Even the school tries to convince his parents that he shouldn't come to school anymore.
