The Rustle of Silk plot

"A shimmering, stirring romance in a setting of silks and satins."

A longtime admirer of British MP Arthur Fallaray, Lala De Breeze takes a position as maid to Arthur's wife Lady Feo, who prefers a frisky life with newspaper owner Paul Chalfon to her husband's political ambition. When word gets out that Fallaray was injured in a hunting accident, Lola goes to see him and Lady Feo discovers love letters written, but never sent, from Lola to Fallaray. Under the pretense of forcing Fallaray to get Feo divorced, Chalfon gets Lady Feo's letters and publishes them.
