The Road Ahead plot

Shortly after they've been together for a year, Liam proposes to his high school friend Mia. They go to live in the house he bought and have a happy time that does not last long. Both become stressed with their work, see the routine in their relationship and the fights pile up. Liam and Mia grow apart and Liam contemplates a divorce. But then Mia is diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Despite some chance of recovery, Mia remains determined to make the best use of the time she has. She persuades her husband to travel the country and experience nature.
