The Rest of Our Lives plot
To combat the first signs of dementia, the same disease that killed his beloved wife, 71-year-old Kenji decides to join the Long and Healthy Life Club, where he befriends the eccentric Hashimoto. His greatest fear is being a burden to others, while Hashimoto finds it difficult to accept that his body is deteriorating rapidly. To stay healthy, the two sign up for a swimming lesson, where they meet swimming teacher Kaori, a former professional swimmer. Like Kenji, Kaori struggles with the fact that her best days are behind her, but through swimming lessons they both discover a new perspective on life.
