The Ragman's Daughter plot

Tony Bradmore, in his thirties, has a hopeless job in a cheese warehouse and has to feed a wife and two children. He often thinks back to the time when he just came of age and was in love with Doris Randall. He was a poor laborer's son and she the daughter of a prosperous old metal dealer. When he told her he was a thief, she confessed that she wanted to be one. An adrenalin-filled adventure followed, defying the world - often him on his motorcycle and she on horseback - but it couldn't be forever before their luck ran out...
