The Notorious Lady plot

British army officer Patrick Marlowe murders a man he finds in his wife Mary's room. Mary manages to save her husband from the gallows, but his reputation is destroyed. Patrick then goes to the diamond mines in Africa to start a new life. Months later, Mary hears rumors that Patrick has been killed. She goes to Africa to see if this is right and she falls in love with the handsome Anthony Warford along the way. A meeting in Africa between Mary's husband Patrick and her lover Anthony seems inevitable. Should Patrick commit another murder?
