The Man Who Cried plot
Wanting a better life for his son and himself, Abel moves away with his son from his tyrannical wife. After much wandering, they end up in Hilda's household. Hilda falls in love with him. Because she is good to his son, Abel decides to marry her. This despite the fact that he is still married and therefore commits bigamy, and despite the fact that he is actually in love with Hilda's sister, the ravishing Florrie. Soon Abel and Florrie become lovers. Nine years later, Florrie gives birth to their daughter. Yet Hilda still knows nothing about it. Then Abel's first wife discovers where he is hanging out.
