The Little Minister plot
The newly appointed minister of the village of Thrums in Scotland, Gavin Dishart, arrives with his mother and leaves a deep impression on the residents. Mostly penniless weavers who often rebel against the manufacturers. However, he fails to impress Lady Babbie, a gypsy girl, who warns the townspeople of an invasion by the soldiers. Gavin eventually falls in love with her, while she is warned not to encourage him, as doing so would mean losing his position. She vows to marry her guardian, Lord Rintoul. Gavin must act now to win her over.
