The Lady Objects plot
Ann Adams and William Hayward get married. After graduating, Ann turns out to be a brilliant lawyer and earns more money than William, who works as a technical draftsman. Ann regularly takes her colleagues home, much to William's chagrin. One day he is offered a job as a singer and soon earns more than Ann. With this observation, William believes that Ann should quit her job and become a housewife. The disagreement drives them apart and William moves into an apartment. One day a dead woman is found in his new room...
