The Isle of Forgotten Women plot

The fugitive Bruce Paine arrives on Paradise Island. Despite Bruce confessing the crimes his father committed to his fiancée Alice Burroughs, she continues to trust him. Bruce meets riotous merchant John Stort with his young native girlfriend Marua, whom he considers his property. When Bruce protects Marua from Stort's cruelty, a serious situation is averted, only by Bruce's refusal to fight. However, this leaves Marua disappointed in him.
