The Inland Road plot

After an argument with her mother, 16-year-old Tia runs away and travels hitchhiking across New Zealand's South Island. After a car accident, the Maori girl comes into contact with Will, his wife Donna and his niece, four-year-old Lily. She lives on their farm in the rugged highlands of Otago. She finally hopes for the love, warmth and security she desperately craves.
