The Greatest Thing in Life plot

Jeanette Peret leaves Greenwich Village for France in the hope of finding the love of her life. She meets Bebe, a giant of a man who trades in vegetables, but his rough handling disappoints her. Edward Livingstone, the man who previously turned her down in Greenwich Village, has gone after her because he regrets his decision. But Jeanette also discovers a major flaw in him. The outbreak of war eventually gives her, ironically, the chance for a peaceful end to her quest.
