The Dovekeepers plot
Masada, 70 AD. Four brave, resourceful and sensual women come to Masada through a different path. Yael's mother died in childbirth and her father has always resented her for that. Revka, the wife of a village baker, saw Roman soldiers murder her daughter in cold blood. Aziza is the daughter of a warrior, raised as a boy and a fearless horseman and marksman. And finally Shirah has learned the wisdom of magic and medicine and has much insight and power. The women cross paths when 900 Jews from Jerusalem, in an old fortress in the mountains, have to hold out against Roman troops.
