The Dive from Clausen's Pier plot

The young woman Carrie is attached to her life in the village where she was born and raised. She marries her childhood friend Mike, but before long she begins to feel restless. When Mike is paralyzed in a car accident, his family accuses Carrie of not helping him enough. Carrie decides to say goodbye to her old life and moves to New York, where she develops a relationship with the older Kilroy. Yet she is not happy with him either and when she sees Mike again at a wedding in her old hometown, she starts to doubt where she belongs.
