The Crime of Doctor Hallet plot
Doctor Paul Hallet leaves his thriving practice in New York to search for a cure for scarlet fever in Sumatra. The Sumatran doctors have nothing to do with his involvement because they are already working on the same research. Hallet is only assigned trivial investigations by them. That is why Hallet himself goes to investigate in the jungle. He seems to be successful, but then gets scarlet fever himself.
