The City of Comrades plot

Architect Frank Melbury, whose drinking has made him a social outcast, and "Lovey," his neglected friend, are both hungry, so Frank breaks into Regina Barry's house. He takes food and jewelry, but when he overhears Regina telling her friend Elsie about her dissatisfaction with her fiancé, Dr. Stephen Cantyre, because she expects more from the common man, he decides to return the jewelry. Frank then has to face Regina.
